Quarantine Care Packages || Ideas for care packages in lockdown
We’ve been in lockdown for 4 months now and a few weeks ago I doorstep dropped some surprise care packages to friends.
Here’s…
How to create quarantine care packages …
1. Buy a chocolate hamper and break it up
I love everything about Hotel Chocolat. Their company has such a great ethos, for the planet and cocoa growers. What was extra nice was the 50% discount they offered to all the NHS workers for all of May 2020. I think anything from Hotel Chocolat makes the best gift, it just feels like you are receiving a bit of luxury. So I decided to buy this hamper which had 8 different things in it and split them up amongst my friends.
TIP: Don’t forget to go through TopCashBack for an extra hustle!
2. Face Masks for boys and girls!
And I’m not talking about the medical ones for a change! Garnier sheet masks are a nice touch for a lockdown pamper package. Boots have an offer where they are £1.99 each instead of £2.99 each. I think it was a great use of using my Advantage card points too. I picked up the Black Tissue mask for the men and also noticed L’oreal now do tissue masks for men too.
3. Thoughtful recipe you’re enjoying
Bit trickier as you need a printer for this, and lets be real, that’s the only thing we’re missing with working from home now, tee hee! I really like this recipe by Dr Rupy. It’s one of my favourite meals and is also vegetarian and vegan. So I feel excited to share this with everyone! It also meant I didn’t need to think about different meals for my friends who are vegetarian. It doesn’t have to be a meal, it could be a cake recipe or I even did a healthy porridge for my brother who is eating healthy and so I didn’t want to give him chocolate.
I also copied a weaning recipe from Mrs Hinch for my friends who had babies of a similar age to hers.
4. Craft print out
I bought an electronic crochet pattern of a mermaid for my two crafty friends.
5. Postcard
I enclosed a little postcard with a positive message and a rainbow on the front and wrote a little note on the back, personalised to each recipient.
6. Finishing touches!
This is the pretty bit! I bought a pack of fabric gift bags from Amazon in bright colours and decorated them with these self adhesive glitter letters.
TIP! MEASURE! I was looking at a set of paper gift bags on Amazon which looked normal sized and were affordable, but the reality is when I measured the size, they wouldn’t have fitted a folded A4 piece of paper - which is what the recipe mentioned above was printed on.
7. Other ideas for isolation pamper hamper!
Hand cream - with all the incessant hand washing, our hands are drying out. Some nice hand cream is a thoughtful gift.
Highlighters - We’re all working from home and these pastel highlighters from Amazon are brightening my day! You could buy a pack and split them amongst your friends.
Candle - This one from Sainsbury’s is my favourite
Cheese! - Not everyone has a sweet tooth and so a selection of different cheeses, crackers and or chutney is a nice alternative to chocolate.
Bath bombs - we have time for baths now - hooray!
TEA! - I wouldn’t be British if I didn’t mention tea!
Graze snack box - Another savoury alternative to chocolate
Book or magazine - I bought a copy of a fellow bloggers magazine which is a visual feast and a relaxing read
Vegetable seeds - Although the stock in shops has stabilised, planting vegetable seeds is still a great idea. We’ve no idea whether there will be a second wave in Winter. So this makes giving vegetable seeds a great idea for a care package.
Ingredients for a cocktail - ok so this one is a little more expensive but could be nice for someone with a lockdown birthday. My favourite cocktail is a Key West Cooler
Pretty notebooks - You can probably tell I’m a sucker for stationery! WHSmith and Wilko do my favourite notebooks.
Encourage a hobby - Think about a blocker you could overcome for your friend to help with a hobby. Perhaps they want to start bullet journalling and so coloured tipped pens may be nice, or a phone armband if they would like to start running.
Would love to know if this gave you some ideas. Feel free to ask me any questions below.
